AN ANCIENT EGYPTIAN STYLE FAIENCE USHABTI, LATE PERIOD, 26TH DYNASTY, 664-525 BC,
The torquise-green colour glazed funerary figure of mummiform with wrapped vestment around crossed arms with emerging clinched fists holding a crook and flail, and a sack of seeds over one shoulder, above a body with ten bands of hieroglyphs, on an integral plinth.
This figure could be inscribed with an owners name, it's so far untranslated.
The figure in the exceptional naturalistic style of the Late Period and the Hieroglyphs, sharply engraved. The surface colour thick and glossy and beautiful!. Comes without base.
Size: 14,2 cm.
Condition: Superb for type, typical flaws and a dark mark on the back from the making. Finely patinated with some uncleaned dirt in the details.
