Sangku suddhamala vessel with zodiac figures, Java, Majapahit Empire, 14th century AD.

Our vessel is dated and is very similar to a vessel, that was dated 1350 AD.

The vessel expertly cast with thin walls and two registers of auspicious images including all the zodiac signs; and other figures above. Exceptional bronze antiquity!

As temporary with the Yuan and Early Ming Dynasties, the Majapahit Empire became a dominant world power in the 13th.-15th. century unders ruler like Hayam Wuruk. Majapahit was an empire of 98 tributaries, stretching from Sumatra to New Guinea;consisting of present-day Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, southern Thailand, East Timor, Sulu Archipelago and other parts of the Philippines.

Size: 3,5 cm. wide and 11 cm. wide.

Condition: Superb, exceptional dark green patina, still with uncleaned dirt in devices.
