Interesting set of two very different but rare and beautiful pottery Oillamps, Roman, early Imperial period, 1st.-2nd. century AD.

The first oillamp is a rare type; a terracotta version of the typical bronze lamps of the 2nd. century AD, elongated form and finely decorated with loop handle.

The second lamp a fine early discus shaped type and stamped with the full workshop (makers) name in the base - Marcus Novius.

Size: 12,6 cm. and 10 cm.

Condition: Very fine, the elongated with replaced handle, the workshop lamp with small restoration at the spout, still a very nice lot with fine original surfaces!

Ex. German Private Collection
