A very fine silver and bronze Buddhist Temple Bell, Indonesia, Java, Majapahit Empire or earlier, 10th.-13th. century AD.

A finely cast bell in two sections; the bell in silver or base silver and the stem and finial in bronze. The finial represent the Buddhist eight-spoked dharmachakra or Dharma wheel. The eight spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism. Losses or casting flaws to three of the spokes.

Size: 12,5 cm.

Condition: Choice!, apart from a few losses, perhaps from the making, the piece is in pristine condition really, fine metal and patinas.

Ex. Old Swedish Collection, formerly in an Indonesian professors collection, bought in the 1970s-1980s.
