A very rare and important Scaraboid, inscribed, Phoenician, 9th.-7th. century BC.

Highly interesting seal made of black stone, perhaps serpentine, in the stylized Scarab shape, inspired from the Egyptian Scarabs and Scaraboids.

The is inscribed with a two line inscription, including what looks like Phoenician type of Hieroglyphs, untranslated.

Size: 18 mm. x 14 mm.

Condition: Choice! Quite sharp and intact.

Ex. German Collection (Berlin), collected from the 1980s and onwards.

Comes with collectors own notes and photos mounted on filt with a hard wax impression.
