A substantial and massive silver bowl, Early Roman Empire, ca. 1st. century AD:
An extremely elegant bowl of fine solid silver; of a hemispheric form with turned over hammered rim and concenthric circles all over the entire exteriour surface. Normally this decoration is only seen in the center of this type of bowl, but on this bowl there's around 14-15 large circles engraved all the way to the rim.
Size: 15,5 cm. in diameter, 6,5 cm. tall.
Condition: Very fine, choice metal very sound, small hole in the bottom repaired and corrosponding hairlines stabilized. Partially uncleaned with some encrustations and dirt pockets, rather easy to improve with more cleaning!
Ex. Old Danish private Collection.
