Museum Quality massive pottery Horseman, dating to the Ming Dynasty (1364-1644 AD).
The largest type of Tomb pottery horsemen we've ever handled or seen on the market. A massive warriour on horseback in realistic proportions and of a sculptural quality that is rarely seen from this period. The figure in full armor equiped with a large sword and an elaborate style helmet. This figure is one out of a small group of these giant horses in similar style, that we have in stock and they are as detailed and attractive as Tang Dynasty tomb horsemen. This horseman with fine Sancai colours of green and orange and with red and black pigments.
Size: The full figure measure ca. 55 cm. in height. The horse alone ca. 39 cm. high and the length is 43 cm. The weight is approx 8 kilograms. Note the photo where this horse is pictured together with a normal size horseman (not for sale).
Condition: Museum Quality, exceptional condition with glaze and pigments intact.
