The mangle board (sometimes called mangling board or smoothing board) is one of the most time-typical and interesting objects of folk art, this old domestic implement was used to press or smooth laundry after washing.

Mangle boards are more common in Scandinavia, but were produced until the later 19th. century from Alsace (France) to Russia, including the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Finland, the British Isles.

Size: ca. 58-59 cm. long.

Condition: Choice, with much preserved red and black painted decorations.
