An early and outstanding version of the bridge bracelet, who has been copied extensively in the Ottoman and later periods, but has it's origin in Macedonia / Thrace in the medieval period. This particular bracelet is the finest we've seen in solid gilt silver with fine details, and dating around 14th.-15th. century.

The "Bridge" bracelet has its roots from the Thrace region. It is a symbol of fertility and maternity, and it was a family jewel, since it was given by a mother to a daughter (or mother) and worn when the daughter became pregnant. It symbolizes the two breasts of the woman, right and left, and in the mile lies the swollen belly of the pregnant woman.

Size: Inner diameter ca. 6 cm.

Condition: Choice, only minor wear and tear and intact gilt.
