A rare representation of an Opussum on a stirrup pottery vessel, Pre-columbian, Vicús Culture 100 BC. - 300 AD.
Very attractive sculpturing in redish clay.
Length: 22 cm.
Condition: Choice for type and culture, a long hairline repaired crack through the vessel, othervise intact in all it's parts. Vicüs vessels are usually always cracked and this an honest piece that could be restored so that this crack is not visible with little effort.
Ex German collection, 1968 - 1980.
