Beautiful larger textile Clavus, Byzantine period, 6th.-9th. cent. AD.

The clavus decorated with images of long-tailed felines, with mottled fur, follow one another in octagons and a large naked male figure with genitals showing. Border as a double line and interlaced flowers. All in black (perhaps once purple) and with smaller details like the eye of a lion, done in a redish colour!

Size: 31,5 cm. long and 13 cm. wide.

Condition: Choice intact condition with a few small holes.
