A wonderful and very large carved stone seal with knobs for printing on textile, Costal region of Ecuador, Montecristi, ca. 500-1000 AD.
Pottery selas for printing are quite common in Ecuador, whereas this large finely carved stone sela is very rare! Wonderful ancient patina with the red colour still present on the knobs. The seal is carved in a quite hard and light stone type.
Size: 8 cm. tall and 3,7 cm. wide.
