A lovely large Neolithic greenstone ritual Axe from the early Funnel Beaker Culture, dating to around mid-late 4th. millenium BC.
A large well-shaped axe in a granite type of stone and made with pick crushing of the surface, before polishing. These are especially known from Zeeland and Falster in Denmark and was likely used for rituals, since they are massive axes.
Finely made four-side shape, well-define and made by a master in the tecnique.
Size: 22,5 cm. long.
Condition: Choice. Very small irregularity at one corner on the edge, but otherwise as made.
