An ancient-medieval bronze bowl of the high tin content 'white bronze' type with engravings of the Gaznavids, dating to c. 10th-11th. century AD.
A massive bowl and perhaps our finest, likely a food bowl for really large parties. The interior of the bowl is almost completely covered with fine green patina and when cleaned would likely reveal fine design of incised patterns exterior with a lovely star-shaped engraving, pluse hexagons, concenthric circles and finely the attractive bulls-eye pattern. A rare bowl.
Size: 25 cm. wide and 11 cm. tall!
Condition: Choice, nice metal and with some short hairline at the rim and micro chips, othervise intact. Uncleaned.
