Finely carved stamp seal with elaborate handle, Neo-Hittite states of the Levante, c. 1200-900 BC.
The seal depicts a horse moving right with another animal above. Scarce representation of a horse for Mesopotamia.
Size: 14 x 13 mm. and 11 mm. tall.
Condition: EF. Much redish deposits and will improve when cleaned.
Comes with imprint and ID-cards from below collection, made by the collector. Provenance: Gustav Oberländer (1926-2012), Oberländer aquired his massive and important collection between 1985 - 2000s, bought at reputable dealers and from old collections.
