Japanese "ch'ui p'in-kuo lu" (powdered or sprayed apple-green glaze)porcelain DISH with a blue underglase DRAGON within a double circle. There are 4 characters on the back within a single pale blue circle.
This beautiful dish is not in perfect condition. There are two hairline cracks, 2.5 and 2.8 cms in length which are clearly visable in picture #4. There is also one small "rim chip," which can be seen in the same picture #4 and is located in the shadow at 10:00 o'clock. These 3 are the ONLY problems with this dish. No chips on the footrim and the glaze is in good condition inside, and very good on the outside. Masterfully potted and colored and the dragon is well painted. Dimensions are
5.125 x 1.875 inches (13 cms x 4.76cms.) the diameter of the footrim is 2.25 inches or 5.7 cms. Circa: early 19th Century, perhaps late 18th Century.
