Carl Kempe Collection of Chinese Ceramics #715, a PAIR of white porcelain DISHES, saucer-shaped with rounded sides and bevelled foot-rim. Carved design of chrysanthemum flower. Bluish glaze copying "Ch'ing-pai" Copper rim, from Ching-te Chen kilns. Exhibited at the Kunst Industri Museet, Kobenhavn (Copenhagen) 1950 # 474 and paper label C-124. Yellow & red CK labels on both dishes. Circa: Ming Dynasty. Purchased at Sotheby's in Paris, France, Lot # 118. Condition is good overall, glaze inside dishes is in excellent condition with only a few small spots were some abrasion occurred. Both footrims are worn and rough in spots. One foot rim has been "cut away" 1.7 cms in length and there is some fritting to that same footrim as well. The color of the biscuit is clearly visible in one small spot where the glaze did not "take." Diameter 5 3/4 inches (14.7 cms)
