This is a beautiful English hallmarked silver cigarette case dated 1918 from Chester made by E. J. Trevitt & Sons, in rectangular shape with a side hinged lid and push bottom catch to open.
E. J. Trevitt & Sons or T & S are registered in 1900 in the cities of Chester and Birmingham in England. They lasted until 1935. All of their work are of very high quality detailed on box, card case, cigarette case, comb, match book holder, napkin ring, sovereign case, vanity jar top, and vesta.
The front of this case depicts a woman in a Romanesque scene.
This cigarette case is in perfect condition with a cover that closes tight and some hairline visible on the reverse. It has a classic soft rounded corners and gilt interior design.
This stunning piece is fine sterling silver, measures 89 mm x 70 mm x 16 mm and weighs 98 grams.
