This is an antique pressured cast bronze wall plate in extreme fine relief detail depicting "The Triumph of Virtue" scene with Athena, the patron goddess of Athens, recognized as the goddess of wisdom and handicrafts, featured with her helmet, surrounded by eight worshippers. Athena is featured as the moral guardian expelling the vices from the garden. The Greek columns along with other elements such as a sculpture and a putto, (a cherub in Renaissance art) are shown in stunning detail.
This exquisite bronze plate from the 18th century has a beautiful brown patina and is equipped with a ring on the back to be hanged on the wall. It can also seat beautifully on an appropriated holder.
