This is a large and impressive bronze P-shaped openwork crossbow fibula belonging to the 1st to 3rd century AD. It features an early "toga-pin" comprised of two pieces, one cast arched body segment with rounded terminal and a single pin bronze wire. All pieces are intact and in perfect shape and condition.
This magnificent ancient Roman fibula is all embellished with a fine and original aged green patina.
