A delicate and finely hand painted Chinese export Famille Rose porcelain tea bowl of ogee shape. Qianlong period (ca. 1780). Top rim decor is blue under glaze with a tiny colored flower in the center of the tea bowl and the outside has famille rose enamels depicting a fawn/deer and delicate pastel flowers with branches. A perfectly matching pair of Chinese QIANLONG blue & white hand painted tea bowls with scalloped edges. The exterior depicts chrysanthemum and prunus flowers, whereas the inside of the bowl has a single flower in the well and a fine diaper border around the rim. Condition: both have rim frits, one bowl has a nick on the rim while the other has a minor firing crack between the chrysanthemum and the prunus blossoms. A superior example of a Ming Dynasty blue and white Swatow porcelain plate which dates from the Wanli Reign (1573 - 1619). It has a thick crackled glaze and the center medallion is hand painted with a rare crossed double phoenix motif (male and female) and nicely surrounded by foliage, a large peony and other flowers. A MING SWATOW (ca. 1625) Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Plate with thick, shiny glaze, depicting a Phoenix in the center medallion surrounded by a border featuring auspicious symbols. The back side of the plate also has some decor. There are a few firing imperfections (unglazed well/spots) as shown in the photograph and some kiln sand/grit deposit on the back base of the plate, which is common in Ming ware and a sign of authenticity. Very good condition, no cracks, hairlines nor restorations...
A very attractive MING Dynasty detailed bronze statuette of a female Taoist deity holding an offering in flowing robes on a stylized lotus pedestal (ca. 1650). Fine workmanship throughout and of nice heavy weight. Natural dark patina. Condition: good overall, only a part of the back base is missing (see photograph # 4), the figure itself is intact. Size: H. 4 3/4" (12 cm.) x W. 2 1/4" (6 cm.) x D. 2 1/4" (6 cm.). A rare collector's item!
Very rare and heavy antique Sino-Thai solid silver mesh belt with magnificent repousse dragon and flower motif on the buckle. Made by an expert and famous local (Bangkok) Chinese silversmith by the name of "Pung Heng" dating to ca. 1850. Exquisite hand made workmanship and stamped/ hallmarked on the inside of the buckle. This type of elegant silver belt was worn by Thai nobility and wealthy ladies in the 19th Century. Practically impossible to find nowadays...
