A MING SWATOW (ca. 1625) Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Plate with thick, shiny glaze, depicting a Phoenix in the center medallion surrounded by a border featuring auspicious symbols. The back side of the plate also has some decor. There are a few firing imperfections (unglazed well/spots) as shown in the photograph and some kiln sand/grit deposit on the back base of the plate, which is common in Ming ware and a sign of authenticity. A late Ming Dynasty Swatow Bowl, polychrome enamels (iron red, turquoise, green and black). Faded iron red band/decor just below inner top ring and double ring around inside medallion. Lingzhi with central decoration. Underglazed symbolic mark. Condition: good except somewhat faded enamels and hardly visible nicks on top and bottom rim, no hairlines nor repairs.
