A small flat alabaster cosmetic vessel or offering dish with a rounded lip. The side has a carved grove. The bottom is slightly curved. Broken into two and repaired. The worn surface is slightly dirty with some brown staining. Excavation # 2331 over 37 is written in pen. 2 3/4 “(6.9 cm)diameter. Attributed to the Dynasty I-II. Ex Dr Giles (Germany prior to 1970. Acquired from Malter Gallery. An exact parallel to Cleveland vessel Accession #1914.636 Identified as coming from Tomb 2331 excavated by James E Quibell1910-11 no. 49 Has same excavation number 2331 over “37 “ written in black ink or pencil
