An excellent La Selva tripod jar, ca. 400 – 700 AD. This beautiful Guácimo type is 5” high and was found in Panama. Each leg is topped with a bird or small zoomorphic creature and a stylized pair of double-headed serpents encircle the rim. In excellent condition, with vivid paint, good mineral deposits and rattles in the hollow legs.

A beautiful group of Chimu silver ornaments from Peru, ca. 1100 - 1450 AD. This rare set of important funerary offerings consists of a 4" high crown decorated with a trio of feather ornaments, a 4-1/4" wide pectoral with attached trophy heads and a pair of finely made 1" long ear flares. A pair of fine iron ballista points or spear-tips, Medieval Europe, ca. 1200-1400 AD. These large examples are 4-1/4” long and have a wide socketed neck, with a two-barbed swallowtail head. One has a spiral-twist to the metal shaft just behind the head, likely to be intentionally broken off at impact, thus rendering it useless as return ammunition.

An excellent carver's stool from the April River area of Papua New Guinea, early 1900's. It is 14-1/2” long and is nicely carved on all sides. A well-detailed fox head surrounded by geometric designs decorates one side, while a typical tribal symbol covers the other. The seat itself is surrounded by a serpent design. Lovely patina.

A fine Moche Sacred Mountain scene from Peru, ca. 400 - 700 AD. It is 4-1/2" high and depicts Ai Apaec emerging from the mountains. He is nicely detailed and is adorned with serpents coiled around the mountain peaks. Good paint and mineral deposits.

An adorable Chimu shrimp effigy vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. It is 7” high, 6-3/4” long and depicts a shrimp with a nicely detailed, cute face. The legs are molded along the side of the chamber, the top of which is ribbed to mimic the carapace of the crustacean. Good mineral deposits, some spalling and minor damage.

A fine Maya glyph jar from El Salvador, ca. 500 – 800 AD. This nicely painted polychrome vessel is 5-1/2” in diameter and is decorated with a band of intricate glyphs. The lower half of the chamber is painted with connected linear designs to create the pumpkin or melon effect. The interior is painted orange and shows erosion and encrustation from the acidic contents of the burial offering it contained. Intact, with good mineral deposits and just a small stabilized stress crack.

A gorgeous Inca kero from Peru, ca. 1535 – 1575 AD. This beautiful, Early Colonial example is 4-1/2” high and features a jaguar crawling up the side of the vessel. The upper part of the chamber is further decorated with planting scenes, depicting two pairs of figures. Each pair portrays one individual with a planting stick and the other sowing seeds. The lower half of the chamber and flared base are decorated with plants.
