An unusually large Colima bed figure from West Mexico, ca. 300 BC – 300 AD. It is 6-1/4” long and depicts a female deceased during childbirth. Her head rests between large cushions and she is held to the funerary pallet with a broad cloth. Intact, retaining its vivid orange paint and extensive mineral encrustation.

An excellent Cocle figural effigy jar from Panama, ca. 1300 – 1500 AD. This choice El Hatillo style vessel is 6-1/2” high and depicts a mythological creature with large claws. It is 6” high, 4” in diameter and is decorated with four deeply carved panels, as well as a broad rim band of highly detailed glyphs. A superb Maya cylinder from the Sula Valley of Honduras, ca. 600 – 900 AD. This highly burnished blackware example is 6-1/4” high, 5-1/4” in diameter and is carved with volute design patterns similar to the “false glyph” designs on the famous alabaster vessels from that region. A beautiful vessel in great condition, with stucco remnants in the grooves and just a barely visible hairline crack.

An adorable Chimu shrimp effigy vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. It is 7” high, 6-3/4” long and depicts a shrimp with a nicely detailed, cute face.
