A group of 4 iron ballista points, Medieval Europe, ca. 1200 – 1400 AD, each with long two-barbed swallowtail heads, 4-1/4", 3-1/2" 3-1/4" and 2-1/4" long. All have a wide socketed neck, two with a spiral-twist shaft just behind the head, likely to be intentionally broken off at impact, rendering it useless as return ammunition.

A pair of fine iron ballista points or spear-tips, Medieval Europe, ca. 1200-1400 AD. These large examples are 4-1/4” long and have a wide socketed neck, with a two-barbed swallowtail head. One has a spiral-twist to the metal shaft just behind the head, likely to be intentionally broken off at impact, thus rendering it useless as return ammunition.
