A beautiful Mixtec stone pendant from Mexico, ca. 1000 - 1500 AD. This masterfully detailed example is 1-3/8" long and depicts a fox, portrayed with its head twisted to look over its back. Even the feet on the underside are finished in fine detail. Carved from speckled olive green serpentine and perforated for suspension. Highly polished, perfect.

This choice archaic Tekoman example is 10-3/8" high and depicts a man wearing a complex headdress wrapped around the characteristic elongated head. His ears are pierced, indicating large ear ornaments. Nicely burnished, strong mineral deposits.

This figure was stolen on December 11, from the Bella Gallery in Great Barrington, Mass., where it was part of a collection being exhibited.

A gorgeous Nayarit polychrome male, 6" tall. This Ixtlan del Rio variant, ca. 200 BC - 350 AD stands on bifurcated feet and is lavishly painted overall. An excellent example. Intact.
