An excellent Chancay comb from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. This rare weaving tool is 3-1/2” long, 2-3/8” wide. Beautifully made from split reed, most likely Carrizo, with flattened points on both sides. This rare textile weaving tool is bound with the brown and tan braided thread typical of Chancay textile manufacture and has an unusual stitched element. Choice example.

A large Chavin bowl from Peru, ca. 1200 – 200 BC. This rare Cupisnique example is 8” in diameter and is decorated with incised trophy and deity heads. The interior and underside are finished with a highly burnished dark brown slip. In excellent condition, with good mineral deposits.

An excellent Chimu or Lambayeque canteen from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. This lovely blackware vessel is 7” high and is a ceramic version of a bottle gourd (Lagenaria siceraria). This rare example also mimics the large, stacked vessels used by chicha vendors in the markets. It is highly burnished, has intact suspension loops and shows strong mineral deposits and trails overall.

An adorable Chimu shrimp effigy vessel from Peru, ca. 1100 – 1450 AD. It is 7” high, 6-3/4” long and depicts a shrimp with a nicely detailed, cute face. A gorgeous Inca kero from Peru, ca. 1535 – 1575 AD. This beautiful, Early Colonial example is 4-1/2” high and features a jaguar crawling up the side of the vessel. The upper part of the chamber is further decorated with planting scenes, depicting two pairs of figures. Each pair portrays one individual with a planting stick and the other sowing seeds. The lower half of the chamber and flared base are decorated with plants.
