Guest Book
A rare Moche figural pacha from Peru, ca. 400 – 700 AD. This fine figural vessel is 8-1/4” high and depicts a seated individual holding a bowl in front of his lips. He is wearing a simple tunic and is adorned with facial décor, a necklace and cap. Pachas are vessels used as conduits in water worship and fertility rituals. In this case, the water is poured into the bowl, passes through tubes in the arms and exits through the spout at the base. Overall in excellent condition, with strong paint, good mineral deposits and just a minor repair.
