Guest Book
An imposing Nayarit warrior from West Mexico, ca. 200 BC – 300 AD. This large Ixtlan del Rio figure is 13-1/2” high and depicts a warrior wearing a fancy conical headdress and striped tunic. He is holding a weapon that has a spear point on one end and a mace head on the other. He is adorned with the multiple ear ornaments characteristic of this style, as well as a large nose ring and bracelets. Extensively painted overall, good mineral deposits.

Cf. Leyenaar “Von Kuste Zu Kuste”, page 313.
