A rare Inca-Pachacamac vessel from Central Peru, ca. 1300 - 1500 AD. This unusual figural example is 7" high, 6" wide and is decorated with two panels depicting foxes hunting smaller animals. The spout is executed in human form, characteristic of this type. What is highly unusual, is that the artist portrayed the individual covering one eye with his hand. The sides of the convex box chamber are striped, with additional paint remnants on the top section, all most likely designed to indicate a fancy mantle. Intact, with strong mineral deposits.
