For the pair

Old beautifully hand-carved, wood heads of Hindu god and goddess, Rama and Sita. Rama is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu. He is the hero in the Hindu epic story "The Ramayana". Sita is the wife or Rama, who is the damsel in the Ramayana. These carved heads possibly had papermache bodies that have been lost long ago. They have aged nicely over time and retains a powerful feel of spiritual presence. You can still see signs of color polychrome. The heads are mounted on customs metal stands. These type of carvings with this age is a great part on India History, art, and the Hindu religion. RAMA SIZE: 17"(TALL) x 6.5"(W) x 5.5" (THICK) INCHES SITA SIZE: 14.5 (TALL) x 4.5" (WIDE) x 5" (THICK) INCHES Please contact me if you have any questions.
