Magnificent Japanese Edo Period (1820-1850) ZETAN wood Kodansu with very finely cast applied sterling silver butterflies,hinges, handles and floral decorations. Sterling butterflies are applied over all four sides of the Kodansu. There are four pull-out drawers behind the doors. This important Kodansu is in excellent condition with no missing parts or damages. It has an original age patina and shows a beautiful zetan wood structure. 14 inches tall, 12 3/4 inches wide,8 inches deep

This is a finely made, hand painted, artist signed Japanese Edo (first part 19th century) Gosu Blue Satsuma Teapot Satsuma detailed painting of flowering plants and a butterfly on one side and two pheasants and floral decorations on the opposite side. A neck, nose and a bottom of Teapot show symbolic decorations as well as the top of a lid. There is an air release hole next to the final of the Teapot.The dimensions are 4.5 inches tall, 5 3/4 inches wide.
