Big Japanese Meiji Period Sumida Gawa Vase with a beautifully glazing and finely scene of five cranes. Two cranes are made with silver and other three are low-relieved and underglazed over uneven iron oxidation and brown enamel background. One of a kind very elegant Japanese Meiji Period bronze Okimono of three cranes holding a rock chrystal ball on their beaks, signed by the artist. The okimono is mounted on a wood base. Japanese Edo Period late 17th - early 18th century wood lacquer Buddhist monk with glass inlaid eyes, on an original gilded two -tier lotus shaped wooden gilded base and a removable circle around his head. The okimono is removable from the base. The monk's face has life-like eyes and is very detailed. It has normal age wear on the kimono and some wear on monk's head, which is appropriate for the age of the okimono. Otherwise, it is in excellent condition. 26" tall x 9 3/4" wide.

Japanese Meiji Period (1868-1912) Porcelain unusually shaped Vase by Makuzu Kozan. It is finely decorated and is made with iron oxidation color dragon on uneven tone-changing red to white background. The glaze on the bottom of the vase is worn but it still shows a signature of Makuzu Kozan. The signature is seen but it is hard to photograph it.The same signature is shown on page 128, Figure B. 22 of the Master Pottery of Meiji Japan by Clair Pollard. 12" tall x 6 1/2" D.
