This is a very interesting Japanese Satsuma SEIKOZAN Plate of a highest quality workmanship and a beautiful decoration. The plate is decorated with two shields. A smaller scroll depicts a scene with Japanese people and European foreigners (a man with a cane and a newspaper and a woman with European hat and an umbrella).There are ships and a seascape seen through the open window.
The main scroll shows an old priest breaking a fight between two groups of men armed with sticks and samurai armor. There are also scenes of two women and a child on a right , a landscape , mt. Fuji and fall maples with leaves on the background. All details are of the highest quality , and are of the highest master level as Seikozan is known for.
