This is a very fine Japanese covered Jar with low relieved gilded handles with rings, a finely hand-painted shield with two ladies and two boys, a river landscape, and a panoramic panel around the side of the body with seven children playing along the river coast and a lady holding a child.
The Jar also depicts flowers on the edge of the cover and a bottom side of the Jar.
The interior of a lid has another gorgeous detailed panel with a scene of two boys chasing dragonflies with sticks, over landscape with river and mountains.
The interior of the box is finely painted with a scene of blossomed flower.
The Jar is signed by Seikozan and has shimazu cross next to the signature.
It measures 3 3/4 inches in Diameter and 2 1/4 inches height,and dates Meiji, Japan
