This is an important Japanese tripod lidded Porcelain Jar / Koro made by great KANZAN. It is decorated with an iron oxidation all over its body and has very fine gold decorations performed in satsuma style, over six raised oval panels with mon-shaped dragons in centers , paradise birds over the bottom part of the Jar, symbolic decorations on the bottom stripe and handles, and fine decorations on mystic animal- shaped feet. The top of the lid has six-raised oval panels over it and there are paradise birds and other decorations around unusually shaped finial. There is an air release hole inside the knob. The interior of the Koro is made with white glaze and iron oxidation over porcelain, as well as the bottom. This Kanzan Koro is a rare museum quality object and it is in excellent condition with no wear or losses. It measures 13 inches tall and 10.5 in diameter, and dates mid 19th century, Edo, Japan
