Strand of Yuan/Ming Dynasty glass trade beads excavated from the Tak Hilltop burial site along the Thai Burmese border. These are datable to the 14th to 16th CE, because of datable ceramics found the same strata, so it is easy to date these beads being from no later than this period, although archaic jade items over a thousand years old were found as well. Scale is in enlargements...

Very fine and rare underglazed blue and white porcelain jar with lid, from the Southern Yunnan Kiln of Yuxi. This type of ceramic is a fairly recent discovery, the first pieces having hit the market around 2003, although the earliest dating to having found this kind of ware was 1973. The best dating I can give this given its simple design would be late Yuan to early Ming circa 12th century, although ceramics from this area have been produced from the Song to Late Ming...

Quirky and eclectic collection of 35 small repousse copper plaques or tokens. These were collected in Dali, Yunnan, China in the late 1980s. No two are exactly alike and seem to be influenced by Tantric Buddhism in that the endless knot, parasol, lotus throne, and temple banner motifs are represented in this lot as well as more traditional Chinese symbols such as bats and butterflies. In the last image I have shown a Qilin the only image in this group that has a hallmark...
