19th Century Beijing Glass Carved Snuff Bottle. Very simply carved with silver and copper neck, this was probably done as a repair and is old as well. The carving is very much in the style a Qing Dynasty Jade Carving. Condition: Some scratches and two small chips on the footrim entirely consistent with an old piece. Dimensions: 6.7cm/2.75in height.

Good 18 seal script characters “chop” circa early 20th century. I wish I could give a more detailed translation other than it being for an association but it is, for the moment, the best I can do. Very skillfully carved with a few chips on one corner, please note the scale is centimeters.

Colorful and quirky glass bangle fragments drilled and reworked into beads (two strands). These seem to have traveled far and wide. The strand without the small beads I bought in HK about 5 years ago and the other was purchased in Bangkok at about the same time. These originally came from Iran circa 6th CE - 7th CE which would make them late Sassanian Empire or early Islamic Era...

Gray pottery lid or finial to a Tang Dynasty jar in the shape of a pagoda’s top. Buddhism did not really arrive in China until the late Han (more or less) and did not make a significant impact on mainstream Chinese culture until the Tang (if you don’t count the non Han Wei Dynasties). A simple an attractive piece. H: 12cm/4.8in and H: 10cm/4in.

Exceptionally rare “wedding blanket” panel from the Tujia people of Guizhou, China, early 20th century, circa 80 years old or more. This is only the 2nd Tujia textile I have seen with a horse motif. Made of all handspun cotton with some silk yarn embellishments. Excellent condition. L: 1.25m/49.5in and W: 36cm/14in.

Fine and rare two paneled silk embroidered “wedding blanket” from the small Maonan minority people of northern Guangxi Zhuang Province. This piece is 60 to 90 years old with a hand spun cotton foundation and hand spun silk. The frontal surface of the blanket is decorated with embroidered floral and phoenix symbols and key fret pattern highlighted by “floating weft” threads...

Rare Qing Dynasty bottle vase with a straight neck and fine cracalature- there is one tiny glaze chip inside mouthrim noted in enragements. This may be Shekwan but I would generalize and say this from a Guangdong or South Fujian kiln. Very pretty glaze! H: 17.4cm/6.9in.

Exceptionally rare pair of semi opaque white glass perforated discs from the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE). These originally were meant to be a cheap substitute for white jade funeral items, but given the fragility of glass they are more uncommon. The small (D: 4.4cm/1.8in) one has a fairly recent hairline crack and the large (D: 5.8cm/2.3in) one has some minor old chipping on the edge.

Good Qing Dynasty Jadeite oval plaque with beveled edge. This was most likely set into a Ruyi scepter or belt fastener. There are a few tiny chips on the unpolished edge as this side would be set into a mounting I consider them negligible. L: 5.7cm/2.2in, W: 4.cm1.6in and .5cm/.2in thickness.

Quirky Qing Dynasty toggle seal with opposing crouching animal and human figures, the script translates Dou Shu (name) Meditation Hall. There are two minor crack in the wood highlighted in enlargements with red arrows. May be worn as a pendant. L: 7cm/2.8in and W: 1.9cm/.8in.

Rare antique two paneled bed cover from the Daizu ethnic minority of Southern Yunnan, China. An unusual piece with very fine silk embroidery and woven with what may be hemp/ramie handspun threads, as it has a slightly rougher feel than standard cotton thread. I would date this early 20th century with mostly natural dyes. There are small holes and tears throughout the piece as to be expected from an old textile from a tropical climate. L: 120cm/47in and W: 69cm/27in.

Quirky glass ring emulating agate. This piece came from China but possibly is a trade object. I acquired this in a lot of other ancient pieces. A conservative dating to this is Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and guarantees it to this period. There is one crack as well as some bubble burst pitting on the surface. Outer D: 2.8cm and inner D: 1.9cm.

Fine and rare “sizhi” (four straight sides) inkstone circa Qing Dynasty with footrim. This is a very conservative dating based on a similar example of an inkstone with a footrim in Chinese Inkstones by Simon Kwan pgs. 278 & 279. Good condition with one small chip noted in last enlargement. L: 11.6cm/4.5in, H: 2cm/.8in and W: 7.8cm/3.1in.

Rare Qing Dynasty, at least 18th century, jar with Ge type glaze. This could possibly be much earlier but published references on this genre are scarce, I have one example of a simple Ming meiping- Complete Collection of Ceramic Art Unearthed in China, Vol. 14- Jiangxi, with a similar indistinct cracalature and mouthrim shape. Usually these jars are quite small and are unglazed inside the footrim so this one is large and sophisticated in comparison...
