Outstanding Tiger Rug, Baotou, Nei Mongol, China. Circa late 19th/early 20th century. 160cm x 90cm. Nice abrash. Some small old repairs, please see last enlargements at the link provided below for close up of repairs and condition The selvedge on one side is has been redone while the other is original but good condition. Nice abrash. There is a cotton sleeve sewn at the of the back so it may be hung on a wall.

Vintage wooden stand made from natural hardwood root. This was made circa 1950/1970. I acquired it from an expat estate in 1987. It was previously owned by an American executive who worked in Hong Kong from 1950s to 1970s. L 20cm/8in x 23cm/9in and H: 7cm/2.8in.

Vintage wooden stand made from natural softwood root, I believe this is boxwood Huangyang, but am not 100% positive. This was made circa 1950/1970. I acquired it from an expat estate in 1987. It was previously owned by an American executive who worked in Hong Kong from 1950s to 1970s. There is small bit of the tip missing- noted in 2nd enlargement. L: 18cm/7in and H: 9cm/3.5in

Quirky miniature alter piece from a Chinese ethnic minority. This sourced in Yunnan in the late 1980s, and the item itself is circa 19th century. I am inclined to say this is a Miao/Hmong or Yao/Mien item. This intricately carved as a small table with a key fret pattern and “dou” shaped vessel with animal feet and lotus leaf pattern on top. A “dou” is used for holding ceremonial offerings to a deity or heaven in Chinese culture...

Baotou rug with classic scholar’s motif. This is circa early 20th century, there has been extensive old reweaving done on this as can be noted a beige toned areas on the field having said this there are no holes and the pile is still quite good. W: 58cm/27.8in and L: 122cm/48in.

Classic old Baotou carpet with image of a boy playing a flute, which symbolizes peace and longing for a simple rural life and phoenix looking at the sun which symbolizes the rule of a wise emperor. The on the border is filled with cranes which are a common Chinese symbol for long life. The “three colors”, blue palette, is the signature style for Baotou rugs. Good circa late 19th/early 20th CE, Ningxia Tibetan Buddhist temple runner with two playful female “foo dogs” and pup medallions, representing the nurturing aspect of the Yin principle, against an apricot colored background with 8 scattered floral sprays, surrounded by a border of auspicious Taoist and Buddhist symbols. Quite unusual are the “Sahnka” symbols, conch, rarely seen in carpets- this represents the sound of the Dharma-beckoning people to awaken from ignorance...

Xinjiang Chinese Saddle Bags: Complete set of horse/donkey bags circa late 19th to early 20th century. Please see enlargement 3#- the flat weave edge on one panel is missing and the central panel has about 4cm missing on each horizontal side (see enlargements again).
