Exceptionally fine mid 20th CE wedding cover from the Zhuang ethnic group, Guzhou This piece is in perfect condition and is composed of silk floss on all handspun cotton using the supplementary weft embroidery technique. With the migration of rural young women moving to the “big city” to get factory jobs, this art has all but died out. Dimensions: 104cm/41in x 156cm/61in. I have 30 pieces from this area and this is by far the best.

350.00 Wearable, rare Northern Chin, woman’s, ceremonial, embroidered skirt circa 50 to 80 years old, Chin State, Burma. All hand woven in two panels with a silk warp and cotton weft, and natural dye. There is some minor fading in a few places (doesn't look in real life as the photos indicate) but the condition and quality of the cloth is outstanding. Chin textiles are much under appreciated in the West due to the remoteness of their region as well as the subtle patterns which see...

Special Offer: Was $320, now $220. Collection of 5, circa late Qing Dynasty embroidered glass cases. Eyeglasses were always considered a luxury status item, since not everyone who needed them could afford a pair and they were emblematic of the scholar class as well. So it is just natural that these precious items were kept in a beautiful case. Two of these have the original glass “slide” fasteners. L: 14cm5.5in. Large textile from Laos with a “void” silhouette deer pattern . Very rare antique two paneled bed cover from the Daizu ethnic minority of Southern Yunnan, China. An unusual piece with very fine silk embroidery and woven field with what may be hemp/ramie handspun threads, as it has a slightly coarser and stiff feel than standard cotton thread.
