Guest Book

Terra Cotta Buddha head and torso from Tov Aimag, Northern Mongolia. This region had an abundance Yellow Hat sect Tibetan temples, most of which were demolished when it became the world’s second Communist country in 1924. Soon after a mass Soviet style pogrom of the Buddhist monastic order was carried out. Taking a page from Uncle Joe's book the Chinese did much the same to the monasteries in Tibet during the Cultural Revolution. This piece is circa 18th CE, I acquired a box of shards and pieces from the same locale, a few years ago and these are the last two pieces so I am letting both go at a discount also it cost the same to ship one as does two. Stands included- please see enlargements for condition. Head dimensions mounted H: 12cm/4.7in.,and torso dimensions mounted H: 14cm/5.5in.
