Classic Ming celadon bowl from the Longquan kiln, unfortunately the photos do not do this piece justice. It is a heavy, meaty piece at just under near one l kilo/2 lbs in weight. It is just about one shade darker from being classified as a “sea green”, the best approximation to matching the color may seen in enlargement 3 showing the pattern of the impressed chrysanthemum. As my photo editing software tends to truncate images it is not as flat and wide as the photos indicate. This is the nicest color from this period and glaze that I have seen in quite some time. There are two hair line cracks, running diagonally into the glaze noted in last enlargement. D/18cm/7.1in and H: 8.3cm/3.2in.
