Fine intricate four paneled handwoven bed cover made with handspun natural local indigo dyed cotton from the Ha/Meifu dialect speaking Li people, Hainan Island. The black color is in the design is achieved by burying the thread in the mud after being dyed with indigo. Symbols depicted on this piece are single face embroidered mother and son figures. Excellent condition, L: 205cm/80.5in and W: 129cm/50.8in. These are very rare now.
