Colorful full length two paneled men’s tube sarong from Ende, Flores Island, Indonesia. I bought this new in 1988, and it has been in storage since then, having washed it once once. The brightly colored bands are made with commercial silk thread weft threads. The rest of the piece is made of handwoven handspun natural dyed cotton, with two bands of ikat. There are tiny weaving flaws here and there (little spots of broken threads, but no holes) otherwise pristine original condition. Compared to women’s sarongs, ones made for men are quite rare as this is the only I have ever seen. W: 128cm/50in and L: 128cm/50in.
