Up for sale is a very rare uncut antique Chinese silk brocade weaving with dark blue ground; the yardage was made for a Xia Pei or waist coat which supposed to be worn by the wife of the Mandarin during the Qing dynasty over the dragon robe, 2 blank areas in the middle are meant the mounting of the her rank badges; it was woven with four 5-claw dragon, clouds, seawaves, and buddhist auspicious objects, all woven with gold threads; excellent condition, no wear, some russet gold threads in the center as showns in the pictures. A great piece for tudy purposes. Measurements: Width 31.5", length 81"
