Up for sale is a pair of antique Chinese silk civil rank badges - To be worn on the front and back of a surcoat, from late 1800's, executed in KESI /Kossu weaving technique, each has a bear standing on pride rock, bats, peonies, seawaves, sun disc, cloud patterns, buddhist / Taolist auspicious symbols against a brown silk ground; Backed with light blue silk lining. Measurements : Approx. 11-1/2" x 11-1/2" each, it is in very good condition, minor separation along the left and right borders & restitched, vibrant silk color.
