There are 2 living national treasure from bamboo art, both of them living in Tochigi. Another is Katsushiro Soho. Title is "outou" means cherry. This was one of the baskets when he had an exhibition in 1980's. The box says it is made in Showa 61, 1986. Colored madake bamboo strips are woven with Matsuba-ami weaving. Signed original box and lacquered bamboo water container.
