This large Haku-Enyu, crackled white salt fired chawan is by the master Kyoto potter; Iwabuchi Shigeya (1925-1993). This evocative and textured white chawan has very subtle undertones of a pink blush around the mouth and is covered with a series of crazed and crackled salt glaze deposited on the white slipped surface of the bowl showing the occassional gohonde fawn spots. This large and imposing Oribe mizusashi was made by long time Mino potter, Hayashi Shotaro. Thrown out of a fine Mino clay, much of the surface was cut away to create a surface of wonderful flat planes and rough areas of faceted clay which was then glaze in Hayashi's rich Oribe glaze. Large, robust Shigaraki chaire by internationally recognized potter, Kanzaki Shiho. Fired for 10 days in an anagama kiln, this Shigaraki chaire has a wonderful coating of ash with some rich hi-iro fire color on the back and foot. The chaire is signed on the foot and comes complete with its shifuku, silk bag, lid and signed box. The chaire measures 8cm x 7.6cm and is in its original condition.

Traditional style chaire which was first glazed to the shoulder and then wood fired for a haikaburi effect. This chaire is in perfect condition with lid, bag and signed box and measures 7.5 x 6.8cm. The chaire mouth is not quite perfectly round and the lid fits very tightly.

Yamada Masakazu, born in 1951 is a traditional Mino craftsman and has been president of the Mino potters Association and specializes in wood fired Shino, Oribe and haiyu pottery.

Slender and noble hanaire with excellent faceted planes and spatula marks accentuated by "ripped" clay at the facet edges. This pot was glazed in a thick nuka glaze and then covered in a runny ash glaze that has pooled glaze on the lip, shoulder and at other points. Measuring 23 x 9.25cm this vase is in excellent condition and is a striking example of ware made for the tea ceremony (chadogu) that Richard Milgrim is so well known and respected for.
