Well fired and robust chawan by Shigaraki veteran and influential teacher, writer and kiln specialist, Kanzaki Shiho (1942-2017). This classic Kanzaki chawan has a wonderful coat of ash running down the face of the chawan with an ash deposit along the lip and blanketing the entire bottom of the interior with areas of rich fire color and clay flavor completing the narrative that speaks about what it means to be a Shigaraki chawan. The well cut foot and bottom are enjoyable to view and rest against one's palm making for a very functional chawan and a bowl that just keeps giving.

This chawan comes complete with its original signed box and measures 13 x 8cm.
